WanderPlan FAQ
Quick answers to common questions about how WanderPlan works.
General
What WanderPlan is, and why it’s different.
What is WanderPlan?
WanderPlan is a travel planning tool by WanderVlogs that turns real travel experiences into clear, realistic, day-by-day itineraries.
Instead of relying on generic AI guesses, static maps, or “Top 10” lists, WanderPlan builds each plan using places, timing, and insights pulled from real travel vlogs — so your itinerary reflects how trips actually unfold on the ground, not just what looks good on paper. How is WanderPlan different from other trip planners?
Many trip planners today are either generic AI-generated planners, simple Google Maps lists, or recycled “Top 10” recommendations.
WanderPlan is different because its itineraries are built using insights from real travel vlogs — places that people have actually visited, timed, and experienced on the ground.
Instead of guessing what might work, you can see where recommendations come from and jump directly to the vlog moments behind them, giving you confidence that the plan reflects how trips actually unfold in real life.I have a feature suggestion or feedback about my itinerary. How can I share it?
We’d love to hear it. You can share feature suggestions or feedback by reaching out through our contact page.
We actively use traveler feedback to improve WanderPlan, especially insights that help make itineraries more realistic, flexible, and useful.Do I need an account to use WanderPlan?
You can browse public itineraries without an account.
To create and save your own itineraries, you’ll need to sign in so your plans are linked to your account. How can I see the itineraries I created previously?
If you’re signed in, you can view itineraries you’ve created before by opening the user context menu and selecting “My Itineraries”.
Trip Planning
How itineraries are created, structured, and shared.
How do I create a trip plan?
Start by choosing a country and your travel dates. If you already have a region in mind, you can also pick your starting region yourself.
Then tell us your travel pace, who you’re traveling with, and what you’re interested in. Your travel pace helps WanderPlan balance each day — for example, keeping days lighter and less packed if you prefer a more relaxed travel experience.
WanderPlan uses vlog-backed places and real travel insights to generate a practical, day-by-day itinerary tailored to your preferences. Can I add places from different regions?
Yes. You can include multiple regions within the same country in one itinerary. You can either select regions yourself or let WanderPlan suggest regions based on your trip length and preferences.
Your trip is organized day by day so it’s easy to follow as you move between regions.Does WanderPlan account for realistic travel time?
WanderPlan is designed to create realistic, doable itineraries.
It balances days based on distance between places, typical travel pace, and how travelers actually move through regions — using patterns observed in real travel vlogs rather than abstract assumptions.
The goal is to avoid overpacked days and help your trip flow naturally from one place to the next. Can I explore destinations before creating an itinerary?
Yes. You can explore countries, regions, and places on WanderVlogs, where destinations are discovered from real travel vlogs.
When you’re ready, WanderPlan uses those same vlog-backed insights to turn your discoveries into a structured, day-by-day itinerary. Can I change or edit an itinerary after it’s created?
At the moment, itineraries can’t be edited after creation.
Each itinerary is generated as a complete plan based on your preferences at the time you create it. If your plans or interests change, you can always create a new itinerary from scratch using updated preferences to better match your needs. Can I export or download my itinerary?
WanderPlan provides a clean, easy-to-follow online itinerary view that you can bookmark or share via a direct link for later reference.
We also send you an email with a direct link to your itinerary, so you can access it anytime without needing to recreate it.
Export options like PDFs or printable versions may be added in the future. Why isn’t the country or region I want to visit available in the planner?
WanderPlan only builds itineraries using real travel experiences from travel vlogs.
If a country or region isn’t currently available, it means there isn’t yet enough long-form, on-the-ground vlog content for us to reliably extract places, timing, and practical travel flow for that destination.
Rather than generating guessed or generic itineraries, we intentionally avoid supporting destinations without sufficient real-world video coverage. This ensures every itinerary is based on places that travelers have actually visited and experienced — not assumptions.
As more travel vlogs become available, new countries and regions are continuously added to WanderPlan.
