Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 31, 2026
At a glance
- We collect the minimum data needed to run WanderVlogs: basic server logs and privacy-aware analytics via Google Analytics (Consent Mode v2).
- Analytics cookies are set only if you consent. Without consent, we receive cookieless pings for aggregated measurement (no persistent identifiers).
- We do not run ads, retargeting, or ad personalization, and we don't sell personal data.
- YouTube embeds and map tiles may process your IP and browser details when used.
- Some pages feature Recommended Partners; clicking a partner link may route through a tracking link and set third-party cookies. See Third-party services below.
- Contact us any time at hi@wandervlogs.com to ask questions or request deletion.
Information we collect
1) Server & CDN logs
When you visit WanderVlogs, our servers automatically record standard request information: IP address, user agent, referrer, requested URLs, and timestamps. We use these logs for security, debugging, and to measure service reliability. Logs are retained only as long as necessary for these purposes.
2) Analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage and improve the site. We’ve enabled Google Consent Mode v2:
- If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics sets cookies (e.g.
_ga) so we can measure returning users, session continuity, and attribution. - If you reject, Google receives cookieless measurement pings without storing or reading analytics cookies; reports may include modeled results to estimate traffic.
- Google receives standard request metadata (e.g., IP at the edge for coarse geolocation like country/city) and then discards IP after deriving that location.
- We do not enable ad personalization or Google Signals.
Learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
3) Contact form
If you send us a message via the Contact page, we will receive the information you provide (e.g., name, email, message). We use this only to respond to your inquiry and to support you, and we delete messages when they are no longer needed.
4) WanderVlogs accounts & trip data
When you create a WanderVlogs account, we process:
- A unique user identifier provided via Google authentication
- Saved itineraries and trip plans
- Planning preferences (e.g., interests, pace, budget range)
We do not require usernames or passwords and do not collect email addresses directly.
5) Booking interactions
When you use booking features on WanderVlogs, we may receive limited data about your search inputs (e.g., destination, dates, number of guests). Actual booking transactions and payment processing are handled by Hotel.eu. We do not store payment details.
6) Recommended Partner clicks
When you click a Recommended Partner link or button (e.g. a transfer, tour, or booking partner), we log the click event (which partner, which page) for performance reporting. We do not receive any data about what happens after you leave WanderVlogs.
7) Developer / data licensing inquiries
If you submit a Request Access form on our Developers & Data Licensing page, we collect the information you provide: your name, work email, company or product name, company URL, a description of what you're building, and your country and pricing tier preferences. We use this only to evaluate your request, respond to it, and, if you proceed, to deliver and administer a data license.
Cookies
WanderVlogs itself doesn’t set non-essential first-party cookies. Analytics cookies are only set after you consent in our banner. If you decline, Google Analytics operates in a cookieless mode. YouTube may set cookies when you play an embedded video. Some destination pages embed live search widgets from our affiliate network's partners (e.g. flight and activity search boxes); these widgets load automatically when the page renders and may set cookies or receive your IP address and browser information directly, whether or not you interact with them. Hotel.eu and Polar booking and checkout widgets may also set session cookies to manage search, booking, and payment flows. Clicking a Recommended Partner link may set additional third-party attribution cookies on the partner's site (or our affiliate network's tracking domain) to credit the referral. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Third-party services we use
YouTube embeds
We embed videos hosted on YouTube. When you play an embedded video, YouTube may collect viewing activity, device information, and set cookies. For details, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Authentication
We use Google Sign-In to authenticate WanderVlogs users. This provides us with a unique user identifier to manage accounts and saved plans.
AI service providers
We use OpenAI APIs to generate itineraries. Data is processed under contractual safeguards and is not used for model training.
Hotel.eu (booking services)
We integrate booking services provided by Hotel.eu. When you interact with booking widgets on WanderVlogs, Hotel.eu may process your search inputs, travel dates, and booking details. Payments are handled directly by Hotel.eu and are subject to their terms and privacy policy. See Hotel.eu's Privacy Policy for details.
Recommended Partners & affiliate links
Some pages on WanderVlogs feature Recommended Partners (e.g. transfer, tour, or booking providers). This works in one of two ways: a link or button that, when clicked, redirects you through a tracking link operated by our affiliate network, Travelpayouts, before you reach the partner's site; or an embedded widget (e.g. a flight or activity search box) served directly by Travelpayouts that loads automatically when the page renders. Both allow the partner to attribute the referral to WanderVlogs. Embedded widgets may contact Travelpayouts' servers and set cookies as soon as the page loads, independent of whether you interact with them; link-based referrals only involve tracking once clicked. The partner and/or Travelpayouts may process your IP address and browser information and set their own cookies to track the referral. This data, and any data collected once you leaveWanderVlogs or interact with an embedded widget, is governed by that partner's and Travelpayouts' own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review before booking. See Travelpayouts' Privacy Policy for details.
Tally (forms)
Our Contact and Developers Request Access forms are built on Tally. When you submit a form, Tally processes the information you enter on our behalf so we can receive and respond to it. See Tally's Privacy Policy for details.
Polar (payment processing)
We use Polar as our merchant of record to process payments made through WanderVlogs's products and paid partnership tiers. This includes credit purchases (used for WanderPlan and WanderBoost), monthly subscription billing for WanderGuide clients, one-time partnership payments (Trusted Category Partner and Destination Specialists), flat-fee Recommended Partners arrangements, and one-time data licensing payments (Snapshot, 3-month, and 12-month plans). When you make a payment through WanderVlogs, Polar processes your payment details directly. We do not store your card details, and payment information is handled under Polar's own security and privacy practices. See Polar's Privacy Policy for details.
Some Recommended Partners arrangements are commission-based rather than a flat fee. In these cases, the partner pays WanderVlogs directly via bank transfer based on referred bookings, rather than through Polar, and Polar is not involved in processing that payment.
WanderGuide clients can view invoices, update payment methods, and cancel their subscription at any time through Polar's secure customer portal, linked directly in their billing emails. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Trusted Category Partner, Destination Specialists, and flat-fee Recommended Partners payments are one-time, per term, with no recurring charge or subscription to manage.
Google Drive (data delivery)
If you purchase a data license through our Developers & Data Licensing page, licensed data files are delivered to a private folder shared directly to your work email via Google Drive. Google processes your email address to grant folder access as part of providing that service. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
